Kit (formerly Ekaterina) Sedia is a critically acclaimed writer of speculative fiction and noir, and a World Fantasy Award winning editor. His novel The Alchemy of Stone (Prime Books, 2008) was nominated for Tiptree Award, and Heart of Iron (Prime Books, 2011) was shortlisted for Sidewise Award. His short story collection, Moscow But Dreaming (Prime 2012) featured a number of his short stories originally published in venues such as Asimov's, Analog, Clarkesworld, and several anthologies. His own editorial work includes a number of anthologies as well. His translations from Russian appeared in The Big Book of Classic Fantasy (eds Ann and Jeff VanderMeer), Vintage Books 2019 and The Big Book of Moder Fantasy (eds Ann and Jeff VanderMeer), Vintage Books 2020. He also co-wrote a script for YAMASONG MARCH OF THE HOLLOWS, a fantasy feature-length puppet film voiced by Nathan Fillion, George Takei, Abigail Breslin, and Whoopi Goldberg (Dark Dunes Productions) Kit currently resides in the Pinelands of New Jersey, where he teaches biology at a state university, and runs a rescue for medically needy cats.
